Several artists have been specially commissioned to create new work for Biënnale Gelderland 22-23, including Erik Tlaseca, Urok Shirhan and Wouter Venema. In addition to new work, the exhibition will also feature research and archival material from makers involved in the Biënnale Gelderland 22-23. Research and interventions from Nijmegen, such as the SMET archive, will find their way to Arnhem and be added to a cumulative exhibition.
The exhibition space is currently being made fireproof and publicly (including wheelchair) accessible. An unused 400-square-meter basement from 1965 in the middle of the Presikhaaf district serves as a base of operations with an above-ground visitor center. The expected opening is January 28th, 2023.
